Scientists say aging may be cured in next 25 years.

Aubrey de Grey, who is "A biomedical gerontologist and chief scientist of a foundation dedicated to longevity research, " says that aging and diseases associated with it have a 50/50 chance of being cured within the next 25 years.  This seems to be a really significant prediction that a scientist would even say such a thing.  Perhaps we are on the verge of something big.  It would also not be the case that we would be a bunch of old people barely kept alive by support machines and 500 pills a day.  It would be an actual reversal of it all.
It seems as though it's only a matter of time before this occurs, even if this scientists' predictions turn out to be false.  This would completely change what it means to be a human being.  Death would be something that could be prolonged to a much greater degree than it currently is and our quality of life would also drastically increase because we would constantly stay young.  What would this mean for religion, or the way our society is shaped?  These are huge interesting questions that are going to be coming up!  Also, what about the carrying capacity of the earth?  Cheating death would drastically increase numbers to a level that would eventually be unsustainable.  The future is going to be very interesting indeed.
