Religious White Conservatives

      According to a recent Gallup poll of all white Americans, 62% are Republican or lean Republican that say they are 'very religious'.  Jesus proclaims that wealth is not a good thing for a Christian to have, with such admonitions as sell all of your possessions, do not store up treasure on earth, and it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.  With all of this in mind, it seems as though these religious white Americans are not following the religion they claim to actually follow.  Voting Republican means there are less social programs for the poor, which means the rich are being favored, which is exactly AGAINST what Jesus taught.  It would be wise for the 'very religious' whites who align so heavily with the Republican party to remember the words of the savior they purport to follow, in Matthew 25:40, "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me".
